Hi, I've messed up my xbox.
My xbox is softmoded using ndure3.0 via Xboxhdm.
Recently my xbox got corrupted with error 21.
Upon recovery I foudn my partition 4 lost in Xplorer360. Dunno why?

Then I tried to use Hotswap to recover my Xbox HDD, but to no avail.
When I boot up -> xbox bootup screen -> Black screen with green xbox LED.

I tried also to remove the factx partitions through option 5, and then recover through option 1 and Failed!
I also tried forcing it to error 12 and then Hotswap, my HDD can unlock but just can't rereate my HDD from scratch through option 1. It always mentioned abt no Fatx partition found.

Pls pls help!

If you have the eeprom backed up somewhere else other then your xbox (like it was recommendedyou do), then you could rebuild your HDD using the upgrade HDD FAQ, and modify the procedure by putting the M$ dash into the C: folder and just creating blank UDATA and TDATA folders in E: and then you would have a stock console to re-softmod. I think at this point that may be your only option. If you don't have the eeprom file, then you'll have to follow the FAQ about building a reader and then after getting the eeprom file, rebuild the HDD with the stock dash. All of the FAQs can be fould here:

Your other option is to get a mod chip and then everything else is much easier.

Ha... the problem is that I didn't backup my eeprom.
So I wld need to read my eeprom and extract the eeprom.bin using the method http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/357863, seemed pretty easy to me. :p

As I didn't mentioned, I'm able to unlock my HDD, But I just can't HotSwap and "Create my HDD from scratch" through Option 1 in XbonHdm successfully.
I was really wondering if I can still recover even with my extracted eeprom.bin with XboxHdm.

Do I still need the Live Info Beta 3??

Yes, once you get the eeprom.bin file, follow all the rest of the directions for a HDD upgrade. You will also need a clean copy of the most recent M$ dashboard to put in the C: folder.

I'm not sure what Live Info Beta 3 is. But for now let's just get you back to a clean virgin console and then you can re-softmod it.

I managed to recover my xbox today.
Getting the read on my Eeprom is a super hassle.
Apparantly, the supply to the Eeprom is shorted to ground on the Xbox rendering the Eeprom unreadable through the described methods.
I have to solder to remove the whole eeprom, then fit it on a board and then power it ~4 volts through 3 used batteries :p
After that I was able to read the Eeprom contents and backup my BELOVED Eeprom.bin ..... Phew!

Why I wasn't able to access my orig Xbox harddisk through XboxHdm Option 1? My HDD was dead.

So I rebuild with a used 40GB Maxtor HDD, set it to "master" and lock it with my eeprom.bin, don't know why I need to lock it twice in order to get it back. Most importantly, need to set HDD pin back to "cable select".
Wah lah... my xbox was working fine now in Stock condition.
Next is to re-softmod it. :)
Nearly wanted to give up during the stage of eeprom retrieval. Luckily my patience paid off.
