R4DS.com or R4DSL.net?

Hello,

I got an R4 from a seller on amazon. He said it was genuine. When I bought it I got a second email saying to get all my updates from R4DSL.net and that I needed to reformate the card as FAT32. Do you all know why I should or shouldn't use the R4DSL.net site? Is it a fake site or a site for clones?

The site seems legit. Although it might be a fake site, the system files should be the same. I personally have a M3 DS Real which is almost identical. They post sites that you can download firmware from. If you want to be extra pre-cautionary you can just scan the files they give you.

They seem legit but they have no downloads for the new R4 1.17 that work....I think I got a knock off R4 that is the R4-II UPgrade or so says the box.

www.r4ds.com is the official site, unsure if the other is just the R4 team protecting possible domains or if it is a knock-off site (I would recommend just using www.r4ds.com anyway)

What makes you think you have a knock-off R4?

The fact the R4DS.com does not work and the card has a spring on it where the card slides in. The compatibility with roms is different from the compatibility lists I have seen. I am returning it to the seller. It was advertised as the Version 3 which does not exist as well.

Try putting "www." before r4ds.com

But yeah only version 1 cards have the spring and they should of sold-out a long time ago, version 3 does not exist afaik.
