I just got a new motherboard and cpu so I hooked it all up but it wont turn on I see the green light right when I turn on the power my led and fan turns on for half a second then I try to press the power button and nothing happens I dont think I have the prongs in the right order but I fowwled the directions any help?

Take all the front panel wires off the connections on the motherboard get an electrical screw driver or any small flat head screw driver look in the manual for which two pins are for the power switch on the motherboard and make the connection with the screw driver i.e. put the flat end of the screw driver across what ever two pins they are if not sure which two pins they are you can try them all two at a time until it powers up if it doesn?t start its something else my msi board wouldn?t start last time due to the memory stick didn?t like the brand I had installed

If it caught fire just by making the power connection something was seriously wrong with it to start with

Which motherboard did you have, and what power supply are you using (brand and wattage rating). The only faulty PC part that ever usually causes fire is the Power supply.

well I dont have it with me anymore but I called intel (thier board) and they said the thing was suppose to beep when I dont have any memory plugged in but instead it caught fire and made it look like a road flare went off in my room lmao
