I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite A205. Not too shabby.

I noticed that if I try to watch a video online(i.e. youtube) it'll play just fine, but when I try to make it go fullscreen, it just shows a black screen. It does this in Firefox and IE. Any ideas?

Thanx in advance for the help.

I've installed 2 codec packs that included an flv codec and it still doesn't work. Thanks for the help though.

OK, I fixed it. It turns out it was the display settings.

For anyone else that is looking for a solution:

I am using Windows Vista. I changed the display settings from 32-bit to 16-bit and the online videos now show perfectly.

Now the next problem. It messes up my wallpaper and I'm sure other things switching to 16-bit. Is there another solution that'll allow me to keep 32-bit AND watch online video.

As of yet I have NOT found any solutions to this problem. Permanent, I mean. I hate having to switch back and forth to watch online videos in full screen.

Can ANYONE offer a solution... PLEASE!

I can't imagine watching junk quality video in full screen. I guess it depends on ones taste.

I've not actually tried fullscreen FLV video in Vista but it could simply be your version of flash or your graphics drivers. Have you tried updating both?
