I am having problems finishing the burning process. I start with dvdfab hd decrp, no problems then dvdshrink with or with out vobblanker and no problems, then using either shrink or imgburn or even nero both vers 8 trial or my complete vers 6, the burning process freezes at 5-8%. I have tried multiple movies and differnt media with no luck. I have a sony drx-800ul with the most recent firmware update. NO clue, and any ideas would help
Below is the most recent Imgburn log: I manully quit after 20 min with frustration

LOOKS LIKE it doesn't like the media

set you burn speed at 4x . using DVD-RW blanks can be tricky try using DVD+R or DVD-R blanks instead, Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim are the brands you want to use

I was using dvd r's but tried dvd rw so I didnt have to keep tossing disks. Also tried every burn speed, not just auto. I was having no problems for a long time with the same media, sony, cheap but it was working. Could it be an issue with the burner?

try a clean reinstall of imgburn or use nero and see if you have the same problem

yes it could be that the burner is shot, how old is it?

If the 'Reason' given is 'Access is denied' (or words to that effect):
Another program is currently using the drive. You need to find out what it is and shut it down!

Here is your burner:
http://www.videohelp.com/dvdwriters/sony-dru-800a/1073
it's about 2+ years old and more closer to 3 yrs now. You updated your firmware to the latest version which was in 2005 also. New media might be the cause of your problem. Stick with the MADE IN JAPAN media: Taiyo Yuden, and get the 8x media! Or you can buy Verbatim (but don't buy the ones MADE IN INDIA!) also 8x media. Try that ...... and/or you can read the comments about your burner in the above link and see what others did when they had problems.
