DS Firecard failure to read save files even though they are still there and uncorrupt.

Okay, so this has been going on ever since I bought my Firecard. Every so often, a game on my 16 Gbit firecard fails to read the save file even though it is still there. It happened with Big Brain academy, it happened with both Pokemon games and now it has happened right in the middle of Apollo Justice, which is absolutely infuriating. It doesen't say 'cannot read save file' or anything like that, it simply acts as if I had never played the game before, presenting only 'New Game' as an option in the start up menu. I checked the directory and the save files are still there and everything seems completely normal. What exactly happened and what should I do?
