Can I play Blu-Ray disc on my PC

I heard that it might be possible to play Blu-Ray discs on your PC. Is this true. I don't want to invest into a Blu-Ray player.

I have an ASUS A8N-E AMD64 motherboard with 1G RAM and about a 2.4 GigHz processor but could upgrade my video card if that is all that is needed.

will still need a blu ray drive in the pc to play the disk.

yes you will need a blu-ray drive . Pioneer has one for 149.99

keep in mind it doesn't record blu-ray just plays it back but does write standard DVD-/+R-RW DVDs

I brought the lg ggc h20 blu ray/ hd dvd reader (doesnt burn but i can rip) No I want the burner so im going to have to sell my reader cheap and put the money towards the burner. If you have the extra cash buy a burner.

Try the Blu-ray advisor tool

of course, the display resolution on your PC is far greater than your TV, in fact, nearly double
BUT, you will need a bluray drive in order to read the bluray disc.
but if you have the blueray file on your PC, then VLC Media Player could play it comfortably.
