Prerequisites: Before you start transferring music, video, etc... I highly recommend you remove the micro SD card from your phone and use a SD card reader to transfer your multimedia. In other words, use something else besides your phone to transfer data to your micro SD card. You do not necessary need a SD card reader, anything will work, camera, printer, etc. Your SD card should be formatted to FAT and when you plug it in you should see a lot of folders like MP3, MP4, DICT, AUDIO, CALLLOG, EBOOK, JPG, MAP, MEMO, PHB, PIC, RING, SMS, SYS, Video, My Music. For me the video transfers where sluggish and really frustrating using the usb cable that came with the A988.
STEP 1
GETTING THE VIDEO - The first step in putting videos on your phone is to simply acquire/download the video, how you do that is YOUR BUSINESS. The best way to collect videos and put them on you phone is download them from youtube. There are a million video tutorial on youtube itself showing you how to download its own videos. So take a second, learn how to download youtube videos(ITS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!!!). Even the simplest computer user can do it. If your a Windows user its even easier.
STEP 2
CONVERTING VIDEO ? the A988 accepts video in .mp4 and .gp3 format. I think just about any gp3 format will work but the mp4 format is very specific. To make a long story short just about any video a iPod will accept this phone will take it too.
Ubuntu Users: I recommend installing thinliquidfilm for video converting. You can get the installation instructions here:

2.http://thinliquidfilm.org/downloads.php

STEP 3
TRANSFERRING VIDEO ? this is the part instructions that you must understand or else everything else you have done will be in vain and the video will not show up on your phone.
Ubuntu Users: Once you have the iPod converted video file YOU MUST TRANSFER THE VIDEO FILE TO A NTFS FORMATTED HARD DRIVE BEFORE TRANSFERRING TO YOUR PHONES SD CARD!!! Make sure to place the video files in the MP4 folder, of your SD card. For me it was easy because I already have ntfs formatted partions on my computer.
Windows Users: Windows by default uses ntfs as its format so it should not be any problem. If there is any issue with the video, just transfer the video to your desktop first and then to your SD card. Make sure to place the video files in the MP4 folder, of your SD card.
STEP 4
Put the SD card back in the phone and turn it on(if you used the A988+ usb cable then just disconnect it from the computer). Go to Menu>>>MULTIMEDIA>>>Video Player and viola you should see your playable video on the A988
Remember this is a mobile phone not an iPod/Zune so don't try to put a whole episode of ?Law & Order? on there. I do not know the exact limitation of a video file size but it can definitely handle 10 minute long video, so it should hand any music video. Also do not have to many characters in the videos name or else it wont recognized the video. Keep down to 13 characters. Enjoy
