I have a laser USB mouse with a glowing LED roller and a built in fan. Its this one:
http://www.eaglebit.com/ProductDetails.a...-00098&Click=61

It might be coming around to a year of use being hooked up to a USB 1.1 port. It is starting to lose control over the mouse completely (I have to plug it out and plug it back in to restore control) or skip some of the mouse movements.

Any ideas on what I should do?

Thanks to everyone for enlightening me!

It doesn't look like a very high quality product, it's probably just going bad and needs replacing. Unfortunately optical mice (I doubt it's laser for three dollars) don't really have any serviceable parts, and don't really clog up with dust, not in a sense that would impare detection anyway.

Any cheap laser mice you can recommend?

Or a retailer to go to?

Thanks to everyone for enlightening me!

I solved the problem by throwing the old Logitech laser optical mouse (branded with Compaq on it) that came with the system back on it.

But that mouse is probably the same one I am using now lol.

Thanks!

Thanks to everyone for enlightening me!

Heh, surprisingly few manufacturers make mice for the normal userbase, they're typically Microsoft or Logitech underneath.
