hi ,
i know the ty's are top as we'll as verbatim , but i was wanting to know if sony dvd+ r 16 x media is still considered top quality . i always like sony and my older ones still play fine , i just hate teh hassle of buying online when i can just pick up a pack at the store and be done with it , these sony's are made in tawian .

7thsinger- Well I've had it happen happen a few Times ! but let me quantify That it's more akin to A. Finding a Four Leaf Clover -Which although rare Does happen on Occasion ! Or B. LeasHing Up The Family Pig and Finding a large Truffle ( A member of the Mushroom family ? ) Prized by Gourmets and Chef's everywhere! That's worth Several Thousand Dollars ! This Too Might Be in the realm Of the possible { But Not probable ) type event ! The Secret to any endeavor is Persistence , Patience and Vigilance !!! Look anytime your out and About or { OOT & ABOOT !!!) if you From Canada AY !!! .Anywhere that sells media has possiblities Though Places That don't have A High Turn over in their Media stock are better Bets { Walgreen's , Sears , Drug stores , Big Lots ect... !!!Increase your Odds over other More Technology Centerd Stores BestBuy & the like ! Indeed The last 50 Ct. Tub of Sony /Taiyo Yudens I bought Was at a Walgreens ! I saw it several Times but It was never on sale ! and it Never sold Then one day They put them onsale and Wham ! I was on that spindle like a Duck on a Junebug LOL!!!! 16x MIJ Sony/Taiyo Yuden DVD-R whilst I woul've preffered DVD+R I am not Complaining !!! Sony are very good,except some of the very old 4x and 1x-4x. Above that,very good from either the rare japanese sony tys and the regular Taiwanese sony. My last 100 pk of Office Depot ricohs hasn't been very good. Now I'm back into my stash of SonyD21 and performing great at a burn of 8x.
Don't pay over 25 cents each for sony media. On sale,100 pks are below 25 clams.
I thought I had a stash of 200 Yuden000T02's,but after taking inventory,1 of the 50 pk spindles turned out to be a brand new pack of Ty-G02 Shiny inkjet printable!!!!!

hey why dont ya send me some of them shiney inkjet printables????? ;)
ive used about 100 of the 16x+r sonys. (SD21) and only had 1 fail on me but that was kinda my fault. i turned on smartburn and burnt it at 18x. i wouldnt recomend burning these pass 12x. useing image burn i burnt alot of them @ 10x and they turned out great...

if you have a sears around you they still have the 8x+r mij sony's(TY's) 50ct spindels. was at the one buy me last week looking around they had about 15 cake boxes there of them. nice little octagon spacer on top and all

Gee !!! I'm Glad Sony DVD+R'S are still Good media being I just bought 3 Spindles on the last sale !!! LOL! now if Only Bestbuy would have packed the two they sent together better maybe the spindle bases would'nt have cracked ? Or maybe they were Cracked before shipment who knows ? In either case If I order online from them again I'll order 1 Spindle per order ! The single spindle I ordered arrived fine ! Go figure!

So far (knock on wood) i've yet to have any of my spindles come in broken when i've ordered them. But, i've never ordered from Best Buy so who knows?

all mine come (Taiyo Yudens) from supermediastore.com and never a problem with shipping . I order then on sunday night (or early mon morning) and i have then by fri. everytime

yeah i ordered from BB once and had the same problem. i think they ship out there damaged shelf stock to the mail order customers thinking they won't say anything , SMS doesn't operate that way thank god

Well I used to shop them { BestBuy } In store But Being that their 30+ miles away 1way & the last time I was their they had the verbatims on sale ! I went on sunday the 1st day of the sale ! They had 1 spindle left in the store ? Getting any assistance was an exercise in frustration!!!!!!!!!!!! I asked one associate about the verbatims and she offered to help me ! But Says"I'm helping another customer right now !" So I watch her walk to the front of the store ,Then back to the rear of the store to where a clutch of other Bestbuy Clerks are {Bull********!!!} OOPs! I mean Brainstorming !!!! And commences to Brainstorm for like 10- 15 minutes and her customer does'nt seem to be around !!!!? I tired of her Neglect and go to the service Desk where atleast the Counter lady try's to be helpful and looks up the Verbatims on the cash register/Computer and says the computer shows two spindles in the store But only one is on the shelf ! I thanked the woman for her help and DisgustedLy leave the store !!!! Which I s why I ordered Rhe Sony's online ! I guess you Get the stinky end of the stick either way Huh ????????

good deal ,
i am glad sony is still in top 3 , i have been burning like a mad man transferring my older cheap disc to these sony's . i burn them at a 4x and they give me a score of 95 percent on the nero cd/dvd drive speed . i am happy with that , i thought about burning at a 8x but i feel better burning at a 4 as that is what i always have before . thanks for all the help
