I have been using 1click dvd copy for ages with DVD43. I have had some problems but not too many. I recently bought a new pack of budget dvds. I believe these are the same ones I've used before. My problem is that after copying a film when I write to these dvds they are not writing. Sometimes it will spit them out at 0% written and other times at 40 or 30% written. From this pack I have been able to write about 10 dvds. I have lost about 50% of the pack.
I think the dvds are at fault but do you think it could be my writer playing up? I have had my PC for about two years.
Looks like the budget discs wasn't a bargain after all!
How much were they? I'll bet I can locate some better media, cheaper than what you paid.
Upgrade to better media like 7th posted.
The lower quality media has to be burned slower, reduced backup target. Stand alone players will have a greater chance for issues on crap backups: Pixellation, freezing, skipping,no disc errors.
2 year old drive?
It depends on your burner. Quality media is critical.Quality of burner is another important factor. Lots of crappy ones out there. Of all the tons of discs that I have burned,I still have yet to wear out a drive. My original 4+ yr old benq 1620A is still holding strong. I've also burned some pretty crappy media on it with over a 99% success rate.
It would be beneficial if you would give Imgburn a shot and post a log from there and maybe we could pinpoint any other problems you might be experiencing.
