Just to let you know I am using Windows Vista 32bit.

I am trying to install remotejoy and i am following the directions on this link:

I get to step 13 and I start to encounter an error.
Step 13 reads:
Quote:
13. It should say the software that you are installing for is PSP Type B. Good. Now when it says "What do you want the wizard to do?" Select Install from a list or specific location.
The error is that when it detects a new hardware, the new hardware does not have a name and instead is displayed "Unknown Device". Even when i go to my computer>device manager, I see the name " unknown device".
This "unknown device" name is supposed to be "psp type b" as the instructions said. So when i try to do the next step(step 14 and 15: selecting device driver from the folder libusb>driver) and then click next, my computer cannot detect it and install it.
So is there anyway to get this psp type b to be recognized by my computer?

I know this works on vista because i went on youtube and searched for vista and remotejoy tutorials and one video showed a person teaching people how and where to install it using vista. It even showed the name "psp type b" when a new hardware was found.

If it helps, my psp is also ta-082 motherboard.

I think someone sent me that link a month ago and i refused to download it. The reason was because of my anti-virus. I'm using avast! and it detected a virus on it before i even got pick a location to save the file- so safe to say, the virus was found before the program was downloaded to my computer.

On the other hand i just downloaded the second link one:
RemoteJoy4iRS Easy GUI (older) - Older version that works better under Windows Vista for some people. Try this if the regular RemoteJoy4iRS causes you issues.

Well, the same error applies. When trying to locate the driver, it comes up as an unknown device. After selecting locate driver, i navigated to the folder where the libusb is(which was in FILES>DRIVER). When i click next, the same error comes up. No psp type b, nothing changed.

Ok, let me give you the step by step what is happening.
I run the program psp link v3.0. Then i plugin usb to both comp and psp. New hardware found. It then prompts me 3 selections: 1)locate and install.... 2)Install later, 3)Do not install.
I choose 1), wait for 1 min, and cannot find it. I then have the option to search for driver software. 2 options: 1) search automatically for updated driver software. 2)browse computer.
I choose 2) and find where the folder where the libusb is located. Hit next and gives me this error: "Windows could not find driver software for your device."
I also went to device manager, this is where i found the unknown device name. Tried to reinstall it and same thing happens again.

well i installed RemoteJoy4iRS Easy GUI then opened the program changed the config settings to redirect view to usbhost and redirect controls via usb host then selected toggle usb host in irshell and the screen poped up on the and picked up the joy sticks (i did have to restart them) the one time vista hasn't been a hassle for me lol

Nevermind, got it to work, although it's pretty old topic, i might as well update the information so far so nobody has to help me on later.
If anyone is having trouble with this as well, you can ask me.
