PAL PS2 SCPH 50004 on NTSC TV Color Problem

Okay here is the situation, I brought back a modded PAL PS2 from Asia to the US, which is NTSC. I have no idea what model the modchip is. When i turn on the PS2 the video is in black and white and the screen is off center. When i pop in most games, it is displayed perfectly in full color (some games like DBZ Tenk. 3 are in black and white), but when i take the disc out and it goes back to the system menu, the color goes back to dodo. I have an HDTV if that makes any difference.

Also it wont recognize PSX games.

What can i do?

hey sefster i think i gotts solution. Why dont you try hooking up you're ps2 on an PAL t.v. Does it make a difference on the non-working games?
