Hello! Just wondering if anyone knew what the
'Jacket_P' folder is for on some commercial dvds. They always seem to contain small .mp2 files. For that matter, does anyone know what that 'P' and the 'TS' in 'VIDEO_TS' stands for? Simple questions I know, but it's starting to bug me. Thanks!

I've never seen a Jacket_P folder, but the TS stands for Title Set.

It's a folder that contains an MP2 image used for some DVD players help you ID discs. Mostly used in DVD changer in which you'd have numerous disc and you can search through them by these images.

Yeah, once I figured out that the jacket_p folder contained those movie poster pics that you see when you press stop of the dvd player, i tried adding them to my data project when burning a dvd-r. very simple thing to do, but it adds that extra level of coolness to the finished disc. does anyone know what program will let me actually view the mp2 pics? everything i have wants to play them as a media file...

Try using TMPGEnc. It'll convert your images to MP2, so I'm asuming you can view MP2 images. Good luck.
