My cousin came over.... brought over a DVD of her daughters wedding. So of course I wanted to copy it! I used CloneDVD2 and picked out CLONE A DVD (including all titles and menus). It burned just fine.... but the menu was not available.... keeps shutting down the playing. I have only viewed it on my computer and yet to see if it works in the DVD player of the TV. It should work fine on the computer, no? I get the titles running consecutively if I use Windows Media Player where I can pick out the VOBs but it won't navigate to the menu where I can choose what title sets to watch. It should have recorded just fine since it's a DVD done by a professional videographer. I don't know what went wrong.
Also, my cousin said that in her player the original disk acts funny with the menu, but yet in my player the disk worked flawlessly. I don't have any problem ripping it with DVDDecrypter as there are no encryptions. Still it won't navigate to the menu at all when ripped or burned to disk. I only use Taiyo Yuden, DVD+R, 8x disks, booktyped to DVD-ROM, flawlessly! \
do you think it's the videographer that made the original (on Mexell,8x,DVD+R). don't know what programs was used by him/her and since it works perfectly on my computer and my players why when ripped won't navigate to the menu? never had anything like this before. it's just a plane recorded DVD! I tried FixVTS and Voblanker on it..... just never ran into something like this!

Install 'VLC' and use that media player to test the ripped files and the burned disk.
Click 'File' 'Open Directory' or 'Open Disk'.
It should pick up the menu in either case.

real player, Windows Media Player, Power DVD, and Classic Media Player all had trouble with the menu and would not navigate to it. after the first title set ends it goes to the menu.... after trying one of the buttons to navigate to the next title set it shuts the program down! definitely a problem with the menu but the original disk that was ripped from works fine on my computer and also my player! go figure......
The next step I am going to do it to use DVDRebulider Pro, using Full DVD, and see if this corrects the menu problem! Will let you know.

DVDRebuilder didn't do anything for the menus. Maybe I should have ripped the original DVD from my Cousin as an ISO and then burn it. but it's too late...... she went back home. Oh well.... will just have to navigate the DVD by hand on the computer.

Probably CloneDVD2 removed something that shouldn't have. With DVDs that have no encryption, I use ImgBurn to rip and queue it to burn, does a great job. Twice DVD Decrypter messed up the navigation structure for me, the DVD would just loop the first 30 seconds of intro. Was an old DVD with no encryption at all. Same DVD ripped with ImgBurn, had no problem.
Piss me off, and I Will ignore You!

Hi Rotary....... yeah my name is Ivan! LOL Ihoe to you man! LOL
anyway.....I didn't know that CloneDVD2 messes up navigation! Usually I use Nero to burn on the fly with just a copy. I don't usually get any problems that way. Just that my cousin wanted to see how to burn DVDs and I showed CloneDVD in action.... funny that it didn't work properly when I was showing off!! hahahahaha
Another thing...... Since my cousin left I took the DVD and redid it in ConvertXToDVD (newest version) and made a new menu! It came out great and almost like the original! the buttons for the menu has the first 30 seconds of video per title set... so much better than the original Menu screen. I was surprised how well ConvertXToDVD worked with the menu!
Now.... just for Sh!ts and giggles..... I am going to try out what Rotary recommended with IFoEdit! just an exercise in functionality.

Tried to do what Rotary suggested with IfoEdit...... no good. still does what it did before.... thank G-d for ConvertXToDVD to redo the menu. I'm sure there are plenty of other programs that could redo a menu but this one did it for me.

I was going to say rerip it with RipIt4Me, but you don't have the original any more. :(
Well, load the ripped DVD into DvdReMake Pro (you can use the demo) and see if there's any red highlighted errors show up, or you can use PgcEdit but you have to look for it. If there's any errors, you can fix it with either program.
I've seen DVD recorders do not make compliant DVD, pertaining to the structure. Most of the time it works fine in the players. I've recently seen one that did not create a First Play PGC, and my dvd players play the first title automatically fine, I guess this is by the player's default.
