im getting some slight scrolling/flickering on my HP 22inch widescreen LCD monitor. its only noticeable sometimes. like it was scrolling down to the right on www.darklyrics.com but now its only flickering a bit. i had bought this off of ebay for 200 bucks, it was only used twice apparently cuz he ended up getting a 30inch. its not the monitor thats the problem is it???
LCDs shouldn't flicker, full stop. If your last monitor didn't do it, then this one's faulty. Buying stuff cheap off ebay comes at a price. If it's cheap, you have to ask yourself "why is it cheap?"
my last monitor was a CRT...if that matters at all? newegg has 22inch LCD monitors at around 200-300 on average so i figured 200 wasnt bad at all for a used one that was barely even used
*edit* i also think it MIGHT be something with the computer because before i got my Radeon HD 3870 it was VERY noticeable with my on-board video chipset
It was cheap, but on ebaay price is somewhat incircumstantial. I paid £777 for my 30" monitor off ebay, about how much they're worth now, but back then they were worth double that, so it was certainly a risk. The monitor however was new and unused, which is the only reason I even considered it. As for your previous monitor being a CRT, check your refresh rate and make sure it's set to 60Hz, but realistically, if you haven't changed any of your PC's hardware other than the monitor, it sounds like it's faulty. It may still be in warranty though, so even though it's second hand, contact HP and they may still be able to replace it based on its service tag or serial number.
