I was told this ASUS WL-500g WiFi Router + External USB HDD can install Linux binary of nethostfsd daemon inside and turn into a wireless storage for running ISO over IRShell? Anyone tried and know more information about this setup? Seems this is the only solution for external USB HDD with USB-HOST function without using a PC.

I wouldn't bother trying to run ISOs over wifi using irshell - you'll be lucky if you get much more than the smallest ISOs to load fully and even luckier if they play without huge lag. Maybe some smaller homebrew things might work, I dunno, but that's about it. Generally nethost is a waste of time for PSP connection.

Yes, the ASUS WL-500gP is a $60 box, size just like an external HDD case, even if speed on wireless side is not acceptable but if you can implement usbhostfs in it then you can just treated it as a portable USB drive by connect it with USB cable to your PSP.
