Does anyone know how I could burn the contents of a VIDEO_TS directory to DVD-R so that it'll play on my standalone DVD player.

Have tried the latest Nero using DVD-Video ... the resulting DVD-R will play on my PC (under PowerDVD) but not on my standalone. Should I try it as a DVD-ROM UDF project?

Is there a program that could write the VIDEO_TS files as an ISO image. The I could use DVDecrypter to burn the DVD.

I'm using XP so the image creating part of IfoEdit doesn't work ... unfortunately ...

Help appreciated ...

try to find image tool, ca't remember where I got mine, it will create a image file you can burn. You will need to get a burner program that will burn image correctly (imo nero doesn't) try primo prassi, record now max/dx etc. I assume that the VIDO_TS folder will play correctly on your PC.
Other option convert to W2K.

Done it! YE HA!! This is how ...

Using Nero 5.5.9.0 I created an image file under the DVD-Video option with the contents of the VIDEO_TS directory.

I then mounted this image using Nero ImageDrive.

I then converted this .nrg file to an .iso file using DVD Decrypter. This was acomplished by reading off the virtual drive in ISO mode ... why didn't I think of this before?

It was then a 'piece of piss' to write the DVD in ISO mode using the same excellent program.

It plays on my standalone and everything seems to work. I've gone from scene to scene, tried subtitles, director's commentary etc.

I haven't played the full movie yet but I'm sure it'll work fine.

I'm well chuffed as this has taken me over 2 days and 4 expensive coasters to work out ...

sounds complex. How about Using InstantCD/DVD 6.5, drop the files and select UDF dvd?

I am using Nero 5.5.9.0 on XP with no problem.
Any coasters I have made turned out to be my fault. Now if it won't play in IFOedit I don't burn it.

I burn using either Video DVD or if Nero doesn't like that as a DVD ROM ISO/UDF, non multisession.
