Yes all three of these things. It does take a bit of work though.

hey thanks for that can some one elaborate a little? I don't need a pandoras battery thing do I as it allready has the firm ware? what else is required and would someone who is reasonably tech savy be fine doing it ? seeing as its allready cracked with the firm ware I don't have to do anything else that would risk bricking it? do roms run better on the slim than fat due to higher specs?

You are correct you will not need any pandora battery because you are buying a psp that is already pre modded (already has custom firmware). To get all the emulators that you mentioned go to this website:

http://pspslimhacks.com/

Click on emulators are the top and go hard! download all the systems emulators that you want.

once you are done your DL spree, unzip the files. place the files onto your psp in the following folder.

Example. MS:/PSP/Game/ *emulator goes here*

after that jsut find some roms and your done.

thanks so much that pretty much sums it up I guess the only last query is I noticed there has since been several M33 updates and is now at 3.90 are there any benefits to upgrading do I need to and if so is it an easy task without any risks of bricking ect?

Well I guess upgrading is really a matter of choice. alot of people still use 3.71. put it this way.. there is nothing you can do on 3.90 that you cant do on 3.71. all your getting with the upgrades is improved firmware, less bugs, maybe the odd menu change ect.. nothing major.

As for chances of bricking. Yes. you are always at risk of bricking when dealing with the flash files. however, in regards to difficulty, its a very straight forward process.

If you do decide to upgrade use this guide.

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/569454

Start at 3.71 M33 at whatever point down the page it is and go from there. :) good luck

Not quite true - 3.90 has internet radio and skype/go!messenger capabilities. This doesn't affect the functionality of the other aspects of the psp but maybe an important decider for you (or not).

Haha - internet radio has gotten me listening to country music!! ;-)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've heard people have issues getting PSX games to work on 3.90. I have no first hand experience but what I read is what made me settle on 3.80m33-5.

Yeah, I guess it can a couple of new features :P but i mean those are Sony updates not M33 new features..

as for PSX games not working.. I personally haven't had any issues, but some people do for sure. I think it may be more due to the way they rip, convert, ect there PSX games rather than the firmware. but I guess its never really been and issue for me, so I'reserve judgment . :)

You can't "upgrade" from Sony ofw to cfw - ie you can't go from 3.71 to 3.71m33.

To do this you will need a pandora's battery and magic memory stick. Check out one of the stickied guides at the top of the page. They're all comprehensive and easy to follow.

Reckon this is a good place to start;

I would strongly advise creating a pandora battery if you have CFW though may just save you from a brick.

I am on 3.90 M33 and have had no problems using PSX games on it either.

PsP#1 : 2.01>3.71M33-4>3.80 M33-5
PsP#2 (Slim) : 3.80>3.90M33-2 All hail the UPMS Stck
If you need a UPMS Stick go here and then go here :-) *As recommended by January39
