your system will not see the extra ram, or will not boot if the 1gig is installed alone.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

if you install the 128 with your 256, you will have 384mb.
if you install the 128 by itself, it will be 128mb.

what's the make and model of the computer?

yes as the other stick is 1gig it'll either ignore the stick completely or your computer will fail to boot (bios error, friendly BSOD)

your best option would be to just send back the 1gig and get a 2x256mb sticks (or if your computer supports it 1x512mb stick) .....shouldn't cost to much!

RAM (standard) 128 MB SDRAM
Maximum 512 MB
Speed PC 133 (runs at PC100)
Size supported 64, 128, and 256 MB
Type SDRAM
Total sockets Two DIMMs
Free DIMM sockets One

the maximum size stick you could put in there would be a 256mb:) and your max total would be 512mb:) your all maxed out buddy!

cheers!

Given the specs of the rest of that PC, having 512MB of RAM is the least of your concerns.

You didn't try to change the front side bus to 800 did you?

Sounds like the front side bus - setting that to 800 will definitely cause problems. Leave it at 533.

LOL he tried an overclock on an OEM by accident...poor lad...like samy said be sure to turn it back to the default, if you changed anything else go to the settings area of the bios and find the option "restore factory defaults" or something along that line
