I have PSP Slim cfw 3.90m33-3. I've been converting my DVDs at this point by using DVDDecrypter and making the VOBs and the Xvid4psp to get mp4.

I recently discovered that with flash carts the DS can play movies as well and I've been losing my PSP to my daughter for video watching so I decided to delve into that as well so I can get my psp back. So I'm trying to figure out if there is a better video solution to avoid 2 conversions or maybe do faster conversions if I have to do it twice. My PC is "old" 2.2Ghz celeron with at least 1M Ram maybe 2 can't remember what I upgraded to when I did it.

So Question 1: is there a faster/better way to convert to mp4?
Question 2: Is there a way to make a DVD ISO and compress it to play on the PSP in the ISO folder (or a bigger mem. stick-dvd iso are at least 4G, right?, LOL!)
Question 3: Can homebrew play avi? (some of my files are already avi....

Also, before I get the answer buy another PSP, I should say she wants a psp but is 7 and due to the constuction (ie exposed screen), her 3 yo destructive sister, and game types (she's girly, think ponies and diary girl), I think she would do better (ie not break it and play games) with the DS if it would play movies. I truely can't seem to think of any games that she would play on the psp, she gets frustrated easily getting killed and having to try over so she seems to like the SIM games. She set up supersmash brothers for 4 players and had the computer playing all 4 so she could watch because she didn't like not winning. I was kind of proud as she figured that out herself, LOL!

Sorry for being so longwinded but I wanted to head off the buy a second psp question.

Thanks

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm checking out the games.

As for the converter, do you know if they run any faster than the xvid4psp? I sort of think it's my computer since I've tried a number of video applications for various purposes (burning movies for grandparents, etc) and they are slow. But I thought I'd ask if anyone had used different programs on their own computer and noticed a speed difference. For comparison, going from vob to mp4 with xvid4psp for 1 DVD maybe 3 hours of video takes 10-12 hours on my computer, maybe I need a new computer but then I'm stuck with Vista which hasn't impressed me....

batchdpg went from mp4 to dpg much quicker 4 DVDs took the same amount of time as VOB to mp4 on xvid4psp. Of coursde the mp4s were already cut down so not as much information. So I was kind of wondering if anyone had done an apples to apples comparison for themselves yet.

Thanks.
