Hi, I'm kinda new to this backing up of my PS2 games and as far as I know, I have to rip the game from the original cd and turn it into ISO file. I've extracted all of the files then what?

If it's a dvd-rom game use dvd decryptor (mode>iso>read select a location>save then click decrypt(disc to hdd button), sit back and wait until done.
To write the iso to blank dvd-r (mode>iso>write browse for iso, click ok, choose 2x speed then hit burn and wait until done) Enjoy!!
If it's a cd-rom based game use alcohol 120%, select image making wizard, choose playstation 2 option, change speed to 2x or 4x, hit next, choose save location, then start, wait until done.
To write choose imaging burning wizard, browse for game image, click ok, choose 2x or 4x speed, next then click start or burn. wait until done. Enjoy!!

No. The ps2 doesn't read ISO images, but when you burn the ISO image to dvd-r all the game files from the original game will be written to the blank.
Look, don't get confused. I should have asked this before, but, Is the game your backing CD-ROM, DVD-ROM or did you download the game?

If you had continued reading the SHORT tutorial for ripping games you will have noticed that it is followed by a tutorial on how to BURN the iso.

well, it would only burn the ISO file in the DVD, not to actually make the DVD be played by my PS2

why dont you just tell me what you have done so far?
because for a modded ps2 from rip to play its pretty simple.
1)ps2 original game + dvd decryptor(read mode) = ps2 game iso
2)ps2 game iso + dvd decryptor(write mode) + blank dvd-r = ps2 game backup copy dvd
3)ps2 game backup copy dvd + ps2 console + tv = good times :)

ive just ripped the game disc and turned the files into ISO. so i already have the image file of the game already. ive tried writing a blank dvd-r with the contents of the ISO but none seemed to work so far.
so is there a proper way of copying a game disc and make the copied disc be playable in my ps2?

I think the tutorial already covered that.
hmm..
Are you still extracting the iso like you said in the original post?
And was the mod-chip installed correctly?

yes, the mod chip is working fine, tried a couple of copied games in it.
and yeah, im extracting the files as like any other .zip files. somebody did said earlier that the ps2 cant read ISO and the tutorial only covered on how to make a backup of the game, not a working copy of the game though

Yeah thats what i thought. Nowhere in the tutorial was said that you have to extract the contents of the iso. And yes ilcmdme was right when he said ps2 will not read iso images because once you burned that iso to a dvd-r it will be as if it was almost the original game itself.
Just follow the tutorial that way that it is.
open dvd decrypter
set it to iso> write mode
click the folder icon that next to the "please select a file"
select the ISO image
put your blank dvd-r
and click the write button

Yep thats basically it.
Oh btw what game are you making a backup of?
Just to make sure you have the right media coz ps2 games are not limited to dvd. There are ps2 cd games, here you use cd-r of course. Regular ps2 dvd games uses dvd-r. And then there are DVD-9 games like God of War, Xenosaga I, and Rock Band which are abit more complicated to make backups.
