Hey guys, looking to buy a burning program. I'am looking at either DvD Clone 2 or DvD Fab Gold. Whats your suggestion? And from your experience what program has the best quality. Thanks for your time.

Are you only looking for burning, or a program that rips & burns.
If you only want to burn try ImgBurn http://www.imgburn.com/
We never stop learning.

To backup your dvds you really cant go past dvd decrypter and Clonedvd2. Its really easy, no special steps, 2 steps involved. Quite fast too. Quality is fine.

First off AnyDvd is too expensive. (adout 60 USD & 100 USD with HD option that's with 20% off)
Download:
DFAB HD Decrypter 4 (Free). http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm
Shrink (From this Site) (Free)
Fixvts (From this Site) (Free)
VobBlanker (From this Site) (Free)
you already have Imgburn. (Free)
That's a complete outfit that can't be beat.

He seems to be asking about a shrinking type program CloneDVD and DVDFabGold. He calls it a burning program but not many new DVDs will fit on a SL DVD disc4.7gb. ImgBurn is the greatest BURNer IMHO. I have it and use it to do DL burns to copy a DL disc exactly, along with AnyDVD.
I would recommend AnyDVD and CloneDVD if you can afford them. Then get all the free programs you can get. Shrink, ImgBurn, Decrypter, and especially DVDFab Decrypter. Either AnyDVD or DVDFab will get around the copy protections and are updated. I have all the above mentioned and more. Nero suite is also a great program to have. DVDFab is all inclusive and DVDclone +AnyDVD are two cash outlays. Once you spend the money updates for life are free. AND you still get to use DVDFab for free too. If you rely just on DVDFab, you might take a week to get a new movie done. The wait with AnyDVD is never that long.
If all you want to do is copy DVD5 discs that aren't DRM protected then yes ImgBurn is the only thing you need and it's free. But to do anything else you need more tools. And you never can have too many!

I'll always recommend a full toolbox, so to speak. The more apps you have handy, the less troublesome it becomes when you run into something new and difficult. Not that one should run out and purchase every program out there, but having multiple apps that cover similar ground can prove to be quite handy from time to time.

Yea but sometimes you end up with a bloody mess with many of the freebies installing apps you already have and then various codec priority problems.

True, it is possible to overdo it some aspects, but once one learns which proggies can cause a problem, or which conjunction of them will conflict, it's easily worked around. You're absolutely right though, some mixtures just screw up more than they help.

You're absolutely welcome. We're here to help after all.
You'd also be wise to heed iluvendo's advice. Now is the best time to buy DvdFab Platinum.
