V7 PS2 Cannot play PS1 Backups

My PS2 is a version 7, NTSC. I have been using the Exploit trick for 2 years, runs the HDD, plays backups, etc. Many Kudos to Afterdawn! Thanks fellas!

So the problem is:

I want to play a backup of the ORIGINAL PS1 Silent Hill (NTSC). The swap trick at the PS2 browser won't work, the ULaunchElf trick (where I go back and swap the disk in ULaunchelf then run the PS2 browser) won't work. I can't find a copy of Gameshark for PS1 anywhere locally.

Is there a version-specific way of running the game? Or have I exhausted all my options?

either modchip or finding a gameshark 2 v2 psx disc.

browser swap is only for v9.

I use a swap disc called breaker pro to play my ps1 backups. get it here:
