OK, i know this might be a stretch, but recently i bought an Xbox 360 (20 Gig SKU) from a friend. The day after i bought it, he told me that he had gotten it flashed through some guy he knew (although he's not 100% certain that the guy flashed it and added a custom firmware). Anyway, the reason i bought the 360 was to play on Live, and well it seems like i won't be able to do that, unless i get the original firmware, but the other half of the problem is that the guy who had flashed his 360 didn't show him how to recover the original firmware much less give him a disk with the original firmware (since from what i hear, it is the most preferred method), on top of that, he isn't in town anymore, so i was wondering if there is a method to bring the 360 to it's original firmware. If so, can someone point me to a tutorial or somewhere in the right direction?
The original firmwares (without keys) are around on the net.. you only need to find out which drive you have and get the right original firmware.
Then the key extraction and patching of an original firmware are exactly the same process as with a modded firmware, only sort of backwards Your firmware (assuming the drive works) still has your drive key.
