nokia 6500 slide not charging

I bought a nokia 6500 slide and it worked fine for a few days and when i went to charge it for the 3rd time the battery compleatly drained of power the the phone would not turn on even when the charger was connected. I went out and bought a new battery and charger and the same thing happened. Can anyone help PLEASE
