hi

does anyone know what the best sample rate (music) is when choosing a file to download? My ITunes has an option in the settings that asks me if i want to convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC?

Why would I want to do that? the higher the rate surely the better the quality?

Is it that I could fit more tracks on the ipod after converting to a lower sample rate?

have i just answered my own question?

Not exactly, Samplerate is how many times a second the audio is 'Sampled'. Bitrate, OTOH, is how much data is kept. A higher bitrate file is generally better.
