I was following you thread below and I got lost at Sep 3). I don't know what you mean by Remux. I did the Demux step but I could not find Remux software, unless you mean Remux by using (MeGUI, YAMB or MKVtoolnix. The only piece I did not download was YAMB. So, again, I'm not sure how to proceed from Step 3) Your steps have been clear to me so, it apparent that I need a bit more interpretation. Mtouset
1) Load your main movie file into tsMuxeR. It will usually be the biggest file in this directory: BDMV\STREAM\00000.m2ts.
2) Demux the desired streams (advisable to select regular Dolby Digital (AC3) or DTS. Dolby TrueHD or PCM 5.1 are going to inflate final file size too much.
3) Remux video only (no audio) into MKV or MP4 container (MeGUI, YAMB or MKVtoolnix are recommended). This step is to increase compatibility with you encoding application (or AVIsynth

Yes mtouset, I mentioned that step simply to create compatability with other encoding software. The three applications that I listed in brackets have the ability to mux into the previously mentioned container formats.

I am working on a MeGUI Blu-ray encoding guide but it will probably take a few weeks. I want to do a thorough and detailed job.
Just a thought, you do know that you only need to re-encode if 1) You want to reduce final file size, or 2) Your source file is not compatible with the PS3/Blu-ray stand alone player.

Ryu77 Not sure what happened to our last communication. I thought I responded to you by stating the results of you last instructions. Anyway. Anyway I re-muxed the mainstream using TSMUXER, but was not allowed to select an audio. Results:
OOOOO/ 34,295,526 KB MPEG-2 Transport Stream
OOOOO/ 33,570/327 KB TS fle
OOOOO.meta 2KB META file
OOOOO.Track_4113.264 / 25,896,730 KB 264 file
You left me last by stating that if I failed to reduce the file to fit on a 25GB BD you would have to provide more guidance...or something to that affect. I remember responding with the information I just restated above, but I'm confused as to what happened to our communication. Obviously I did something wrong. I'm still seeking help as I do not want to give up on my effort. Regards MTOUSET

I saw your response. I'm sorry that I didn't reply sooner. I am working 7 days a week now so my time is limited. I just finished a 12 hour day, so if it's ok I will look into your post with more detail tomorrow. :-)

Hey RYU77,
I read your posts, but call me an idiot or maybe I missed it, but here is my question...
Is there a simple way to backup a bluray movie to a bluray disk if you don't want to shrink it? Or do you have to shrink it to fit it on writable bluray media?
I just bought a PS3 and I was thinking about buying a BluRay burner so I could back up my bluray movies. Is there a way to easily do this like what Clone DVD does with DVD's?
BTW I have slysoft anyHD software already.

4gsxr1000. I'm a newbie such as yourself, but I think I can reason out your question. If you have a BR movie that is larger the the media capacity, there is no question that you would have to reduce the size of the movie to fit on the media. This is exactly what RYU77 is helping me with now, as evidence by the string up above. From what I can tell BD media currently comes in two sizes 25GB and 50GB, (both still quite expensive). Conversely, if you are using, let's say, a 25GB BD and your movie is over 25GB, actually 23GB, then you have a choice, move up to a 50GB BD, unless your movie is even larger than 50GB, or do what I attempting to do, and find a way to reduce the movie size. again, that is what RYU77 is helping me with. Unfortunately, it's a little more painful for us Newbies since SHRINK AND CLONEDVD have not be enhanced to this point. Stay tuned. RYU77 is also writing a guide to further help us with this issue.
