Hi i'm a total newbie at custom frimware i just needed to ask some questions...

1. what is the best firmware to download
2. and if i download the best firmware can i still play my UMDs
3. when i download the firmware i extract it then put it where in my PSP slim
4. what are the chances of me getting my PSP slim bricked
5. where do i download the games from, what website
6. ABOUT how much space will i need to download the games into my mem stick, i have a 1gb mem stick

i have seen other threads telling me how to do this stuff but didn't understand it so it will nice if you could tell me step by step and not make it complex for me

Look in the stickies there. If it's too complex for you then you should not be getting into the PSP modding scene.

4. don't know, depends on how good you are at reading instructions
5. torrents, newsgroups, friends???
6. depends... from 300 megs to 1.7 gb per game :P

You're going to have to do reasearch, if you're not prepared to read and check etc., no ones going to do it for you ;) Or you could just pay someone to do it for you. I've seen so many people on craigslist willing to do it for $25 a pop. It's still a good value.

what are some good updates for an offical firmware i already have a 3.95 like what are some good thing i can put onto my PSP slim without hacking it or stuff like that?

Too true.

A modded psp can do so many more things than a straight one - the list of homebrew apps alone makes it worthwhile. There's not a great deal you can do with ofw.

Given all your postings I reckon you're best off finding somebody local to you that you can pay to flash cfw - with all due respect you'll never get it sorted yourself.
