Hello,

I am trying to split a large mpg file into smaller ones and still retain the closed captions. I don't want to reduce the file size/quality and I don't want to have open captions "burned in" or "always on".
Most software seem to lose captions when converting.

Does anyone know of a software that can split mpeg files and keep the closed captions intact?

Thanks.

I haven't seen a way of splitting mpeg streams and still retain CC's.
I have extracted cc's from an mpeg stream (TV card output) with 'ccextractor' and converted the mpeg to DVD with the cc's (now a .srt file)added as switchable subtitles - but of course that means you can't split the new DVD without losing the subs.
