does actually look kick ass for the price!but the GT 8800 series have also come down in price from £380 to abt £200 cos of the new 9800 series, so if u pay abit more u can get a better future proof card, go to HEXUS.com and check out the reviews

SLI wouldnt work in a crossfire motherboard but a single card would. I've no idea what zoomaj is on about thoug as 8800GT cards were always £170 ish and are now about £150. I'm running a pair of HD3870s at the moment in a Gigabyte GA-X38-DS4 and the combination works well in some games, but ATI's Crossfire drivers are currently a bit weak.

ICEQ3 = good idea. ICEQ3 Turbo = bad idea. Pre-overclocked graphics cards always seem to go wrong for some reason, HIS' included. Sapphire's 3870s are also crap this time around as they come with the worst graphics cooler I've ever have the misfortune to hear. The Asus ones have a pretty naff cooler as well, but it at least gets the job done, just. Your best option is to buy a normal version from someone like Gigabyte, rip the crummy Zalman cooler off and put a Thermalright HR-03GT on. Shouldn't have to be done, but HD3870s with coolers that aren't shameful just don't seem to exist, since HIS don't seem to have made a non-overclocked version of their ICEQ3.

No, don't buy the ICEQ turbo version, buy a normal card that isn't HIS or Sapphire. Believe it or not I had good success with a Powercolor card, but I was very lucky to find one that had the stock cooler on it. You may not be so lucky with yours.

Unfortunately no, that comes with Powercolor's SCS3 silent cooler - it seems to do the job but it's the flimsiest cooler I've ever seen, I wouldn't want to overclock with it. I had to get my card from ebay to get a decent cooler - the SCS version is what I ordered and the stock cooler is what I got - result! Except now that I run crossfire I have to increase the fan speed from 40% to 75% to prevent crashes, which is loud (max stable single card temp is 130C, with crossfire enabled it's 80C), so I need to get myself some HR-03s...

Happy birthday Mr. Capdown! As for MSI boards I've never had any issues with them, but I've only ever used really cheap ones, and even Asus can get those right.
