I'm trying to make a backup of a ps1 game that I had until it broke. I read up about maybe 5 hours worth about burning these stupid backups and dvd decrypter seems to be the more user friendly program I have used. I can get the playstation logo to appear using the swap cd method but after that it just stops. Someone told me that I'm writing the game to rast. So I tried to set the write speed to 1X and it keeps going to 4X. I need help with this so badly cause this was my favorite ps1 game ever. (Final Fantasy 7)

Why are you using DVD decrypter for burning cd's? A better program for copying cd's is alcohol120%.. especially ps1 cd's.

Not really a cd-r problem.. more an exercise in pointlessness.. nothing is gained by live swapping disks except the very real risk of chewing up your original....removing a cd from a drive while it is spinning is harmful to the disk and the ps1 mechanics... playing them has no chance of harm.. the risk of damage comes when handling cd's. They don't wear out by being read by the laser you know.. they aren't like a vinyl record.

Anyway.. the disk swap point for FFVII is after the playstation logo and the game intro.. on the screen where it says "start new game" "load game" "continue" etc....

well, we dont have the original game..... all the disk are to scratched to use for final fantasy....... So we're having to use resident evil to do the slide card thing...... do you happen to know where the swap point is for resident evil? And we couldnt get alcohol 120% to burn a good copy of the games...... We downloaded the games from romhusteler.net and we can get the playstation logo to appear and then it just freezes...... Is this a proplem with the write speed??? Or is it just a bad copy?

Nero doesnt recognize the files I want to burn........ DVD Decrypter was the only thing to give us results...... Before, we got it, we couldnt even get the playstation logo to come up. Not we got that down but it keeps on freezing when we swap the disk out with the slide card. I've seen video's of people doing this and they get it no problem. any suggestions?
