I'm having trouble rebuilding Greg Hastings Tournament Paintball MAX'D. CDDVD Gen says "Too short location length. (Less then 600000 sectors" when I'm attempting to create an export .iml file. I've searched around afterdawn, and read something about rebuilding this game but it's real vague. Can someone help me? I really want to fix this game since my original won't load on my PS2.
Thanks.

Just add a DUMMY file to the list, a 750MB DUMMY file usually does the trick.

The TOC of this game is 4.35GB, when extracted its less than 1GB around 0.97GB. The dummy file will be inserted last after placing the files in the order, correct? I was thinking of making a dummy file, I'm still a newbie regarding all subjects about PS2. I'll make the file big enough until it the generator no longer displays the error message.
Thanks.

Dummy file does go last, and you are also correct about increasing the size if needed.

Why does Sony increase the TOC size of a game if the actual game is less than what the TOC reflects? That's something I don't really understand. They are just wasting their time in doing so and if its a means of copy protection its rather useless.

It is not a means of copy protection. It is more of 'padding' for the rest of the data. It makes it easier for the laser to read the disc.

I have another game, Ratchet Deadlocked. The TOC is of 4.05GB but when extracted its only 11.2MB. Its seems real strange. I either use ISO Buster and Apache2 to extract and this is the output I receive. I guess the .IMG files within the game have heavy compression. It only has two .IMG files. Real strange.

Ratchet Deadlocked cannot be rebuilt, it doesn't load. It has hidden .VOB files, when ISO Buster looks for hidden and lost files a hidden session is discovered; It has a DVD movie directory. I guess all games cannot be rebuilt.

My Greg Hastings Tournament Paintball MAX'D worked after adding a dummy file of about 1.19GB. That's how big I had to make the file, it cleared the error message that the generator gave until I made it this large.

1.19GB is quite a bit, but if it works it works. ;)
For the ratchet game have you tried just ripping the .iso image of the game?

Yeah, I ripped from the iso. I tried Apache2, Apache 3.1.0, and Iso Buster and the all gave me an output of 11.2MB. When I searched for lost and hidden files in Iso Buster extracted cinema clips in .VOB format. I guess some can't be rebuilt, I wanted to reduce its size since the largest working TOC disc that have is of 4.05GB.

I meant just ripping the .iso leaving in .iso format, then just burning it. I mean it doesn't have to be rebuilt does it?

Not all games need to be rebuilt but anything over 4GB I'm rebuilding because the highest working TOC disc that I have is of 4.05GB. I have original damaged discs that no longer boot in my PS2 but I can still rip them onto my PC witout a problem. For those, that can't rebuild I'll load just them the hard drive.

I see, that makes sense. Your being restricted by the TOC. This might come in handy if you ever want to get a new high TOC game.

For games when CDDVD Gen says "Too short location length (Less then 600000 sectors) just use Xpert 2. As a matter of fact thanks to smokyrain, I found out about Xpert 2 and used it on GHTPMAX'D and didn't need to include a dummy file. The game worked and it's only 0.97GB. The game runs much smoother. For all my games I'll be using Xpert 2 it's fully automated. Rebuilding manually was fun but it takes too much time and we have to use at least 3 programs, Xpert 2 does it all for you.

Wow man, it does all that. I've heard about it but thought it was just for rebuilding like $ony's CD/DVD-ROM Generator. I will definitely give it a try today.
