When using Nero Vision or dvdnextcopy I can burn a video ISO or Video_ts file with a DVD DL, but not with a DVD-R or a +R. This has never been a problem before. I have a Pioneer DVR 112D also know as DVR 1810. It is two months old and I have burned around 250 DVDs with it with NO PROBLEMS.

At first I thought nero was the problem so I reloaded it several time with their tech support with not answers. Then I realized that DVDnextcopy was doing the same thing. What happens using nero or dvdnextcopy; when the process starts burning everything is great until in gets to about 75% finshed and it will error out on me. When I play the DVD it works great three quarters of the way through and then freezes(probablely on the last frame that was recorded) the size of the last two files were 4024M and 4334M. On the DVD DLs they work fine are the same size that the file is. I am by no means computer wiz, could it be the DVR. Pioneer will not help. They didn't really know and told me I could ship it off and it will take 6 weeks if not more...great service. Also I have updated the DVR software and have the latest on ( and have been using it successfully until now)

I was using a brand new case of Memorex DVD+r some TDK DVD-R and had two Verbatim DVD-R they all failed. I can only get DVD DLs to work. If I get time today I am going to install an old DVR single layer burner in my system and see if it will work with single layer

memorex and TDK are some of the worst media you can buy stick with taiyo Yuden or Verbatim burning at 8x max.

make sure you have the most up to date firmware for your drive/burner too

I understand. Had two vebatims left and they didn't work so I pulled out the TDKs. Even with Verbatim it only recorded to around 75% and got an error. By the way someone gave me 100 DVD-R, some off the wall name. She got them for 10 bucks at the flee market. Did not have a problem buning on of them with this burner in the past. Out of the 100 I had one movie that I converted from DVD9 to DVD5 that had a two shakey frames. I am new to this forum, Am I in the right forum for technical advice on the problem?
