So, I sit down. Pull up CS:S and start playing. I get thirsty and run over to the kitchen to grab a drink. I come back and my monitor says "no signal". Also, any sound that was playing was stuck on whatever it was playing repeating itself really fast. So I'm thinking my computer crashed. I restart. A half an hour later it happens again. Now its an on going thing. It is really aggravating to have to restart my pc. Also, the weird thing about it is. windows vista doesn't show any dialogged information on it. Usually when you get the blue screen of death, windows starts up saying "Winds has recovered from a serious error." Any ideas or answers? To fill you in, I'm running windows Vista Ultimate on a Q660, 8800 gt and 2 gigs of ram. If anyone could help, it would be very much appreciated. Also, it happens generally, not when I'm just playing CS:S. Like, when I get up.

i think your computer misses you and doesn't want you to leave its side.....lol it sounds like when it goes into sleep mode (for monitor) it loses connection, this happens often with both XP and vista and can even result in a system lock up, turn your monitor back to its factory defaults on its menu, i cant guide you to the area in vista but try going to your monitor preferences area (power Options, or power schemes area as well) and disabling "turn off monitor after x minutes" or something like that, basically you dont want your monitor turning itself off after a certain amount of time, instead set it to a screen savor!
