I recently downloaded ImgBurn and DVD Shrink. After compressing the DVD file on DVD Shrink I opened ImgBurn and choose my source file. When I tried to pick my destination form the folder, I got a "drive inaccessable at this time" message. I am using a Toshiba Satellite M105-S3041. The optical drive is as follows: DVD SuperMulti (+/-R double layer) drive supporting 11 formats

CD-R (24x:write), CD-RW (10x:write), DVD-ROM (8x:read), DVD-R (Single Layer, 8x:write), DVD-R (Double Layer, 2x: write), DVD-RW (4x:write), DVD+R (Single Layer, 8x:write), DVD+R (Double Layer,

Is this XP or Vista.
Has the burner ever worked.
Do you have other burning programs installed (Roxio, Nero, etc).
When you look at the drive properties, does it show the 'Recording' tab.
If you click the recording tab, is 'Enable CD recording on this drive' checked.
I am using Windows XP pro. The only other burning program that I have installed is Sonic and that came with the software package. When you say drive properties are you speaking of the ImgBurn program or something in windows? Thanks,
Nero is fine for converting various file types to DVD format and optionally burning the disk.
IMGBurn is for burning only.
It's very odd that the drive was accessible to rip the disk, but not for burning.
The only options I see is that either the burner isn't set to burn or that another program is blocking IMGBurn from accessing the drive - which would mean the other program was still running..
