Ok sorry that this is in a PS2 forum but I couldnt see a PSOne forum to post this.

I have a modded PSOne (small white one) that I have had since they where first out, its working grand and I dont think that its the source of my problems.

I have a usenet account and get all my backups from there but only recently got back into getting my PSOne collection back up to scratch from there also. I downloaded a few disk images and did a few burns, but only some seem to be working. For example GT1 is grand but both disks of GT2 wont work at all, they burn fine but wont boot on the PSOne. I also tried GTA1 and GTA2 and they are grand, as for Wipeout it wont work at all.

I am using ImgBurn and also tried Alcohol 120% on a Pioneer DVR-112D and am using Taiyo Yuden (hope thats spelt right) CDR's but as I said only some work.

Could I be burning these wrong or maybe my images need patched or something before i burn them. I never have a problem burning my 360, Wii, XBox or PS2 game but for some reason these PSOne games are a pain.

Please help guys, this is doing my head in.

Thanks in advance.

I not sure if this is helpful in your case but you can try pushing the the reset button repeatedly. I found that some backup games are too stubborn to load instantaneously while others are not.

Thanks I will give that a try. I thought it was an image problem but as its happening most times then I think that its more than likely the way im buring them.

Why are PSOne games such a pain to burn.

It is best to use Alcohol for burning PS1 games.

Just make sure the settings are correct as in this guide and it should work fine.
Burn them to CD-R

Pimping X-S.. it's a long time since I saw any mention of them here ;) Still active over there is it? But that's my buddy Tonks doing the good stuff there with nice pictures and everything. I remember him asking me about the xpcsx emulator...

more info about alternative ways to achieve a perfect 1-1 backup.. though most times these days you just put the disk in and copy it... works for everything but the late FF series,.. You will find that some games are just plain onery.. I think wipeout(from memory anyway) is a bit of a bitch with emulators as well.

Do you have a 4 wire or a 6 wire "stealth" mod? That could be the reason some games are giving you a hard time.

Oh for sure I use his tutorials for many newbies and update the info as needed. Its a great guideline to start with for most.

And yes its still quite active, more with xbox, wii, ps3 etc. but still lots doing the PS2.

Actually I notice on Blackcats-games.net that a lot just use Imgburn to backup and burn their PS1 games, working fine with later modchips.
Like you say some are more stubborn than others.
