like i said above, im running CFW 3.90 m33-3 and i downloaded the eboot for FF7. everything works great untill i get into a battle. the very first battle, so i cant do anything in the game. it glitches up for a few seconds, then crashes and my psp turns off. any one who knows how i can fix this, please help!

Well, you'll have to use popsloader for the game to work properly :)
The guide to it is in my signature :)

Download the popsloader for 3.90m33 firmware :) [I've given the link in my guide, so dun worry :)]
You'll need the pops from 3.71 firmware :) [See the 3rd step of the guide]
Download the 3.71 firmware and follow the guide :)

It freezes because you don't have the pops files from 3.71 >_>
Follow my guide on how to use popsloader :)
You'll find it in my signature :)
For the 3rd step, download the 3.71 firmware from HERE :)

Hi, i don't want to hijack a thread but i am having the exact same problem as the original poster. I have a slim psp with CFW 3.90 M33-3. I have followed all the steps in acidy's signature. First i manually made the popstation files myself. Rebooted my psp and went into recovery console. Enabled popstation in plugins and when i went to start FF7, i held the right trigger and pressed X. The popstation menu doesn't show up. Later on i decided to download the already made popstation files and still no dice. I checked my popsloader.txt file and it looks about right. Any help?

Download the popsloader from HERE and then, extract the file :)
After you extract the file, you'll get a folder named "seplugins" and then place that forlder to the ROOT of your PSP memory stick :)
In the "ms0:\seplugins\" folder, the foll files & fodlers should be there :-
Folder - Popsloader
Files - "pops.txt" and "popsloader.prx"

And now, since you've downloaded the "3.00 - 3.72" pops files, after you extracted the file, you'll get a folder named "popsloader" in which you'll find many ".prx" files :)
Copy that folder to the "ms0:\seplugins\" folder :)
Now, you'll get the menu :)

Hi, that is what i've did before and it didn't work. So i gave it another go to see if i makes a difference, i deleted my current seplugins folder. Then I extracted the popstation files to psp's root directory. I Checked and the folder "seplugins" was on the root directory. I then extracted the required 3.00-3.72 files to the popsloader directory. I doubled checked if i enabled it in the recovery console and it is.....is my psp just cursed from using popstation?

So, it doesn't come up even when you press the "R" button eh ?? :(
Hey try holding the "R" button when the gameboot (Warning) logo comes up >_> [By gameboot (Warning) logo I do not mean the "PS" logo that comes at the starting of the game]

Well, your problem is kinda strange man >_<
If that still doesn't work, then delete the "config.bin" files in yor "ms0:\seplugins\" and "ms0:\seplugins\popsloader" folder >_<
And then enable the plugin again >_<

I tried holding R then selecting a game then pressing X. Did not release R

I tried holding R when i see the warning message.

I tried holding R after i pressed X to choose a game.

All three methods don't do anything for me. =( I know to people reading this i sound like a noob and probably messed up somewhere but i'm 100% sure i followed all directions step by step.

3.90m33 is extremely problematic at this point, since it was released in a hurry for the sake of the skype ability. If you have the means, I would highly recommend downgrading to 3.71m33-3. I have zero issues running FFVII, VIII, or xenogears on 3.71m33-3.

Wii: soft modded w/320gb backup

To thehybrid, sorry to say but i guess you better downgrade. I reinstalled popsloader over 5 times..i tried it on 2 other PSP's with 3.90 M33-3....tried my own .prx files that i extracted plus already made files from acidy....and i finally did get the popsloader menu to pop up.......and thats by downgrading to 3.80 M33-5. I really dunno why i can't get it to show in 3.90 M33-3 like some of the members here tho :(

Odd, I've started having this problem recently too... but it can only be since upgrading to 3.90 m33-3... everything has previously run without any problems (3.90 m33-2 and below).

FF7 has been playing fine - now I'm getting graphics problems, ever since trying PSPLink which involved enabling/disabling plugins... including POPSLOADER. The FF7 crashing is indicative of using an unstable version of POPS (I have had this exact problem previously). To fix it, I held R trigger and selected POPS 3.71 or 3.72... usually no problem. SO I assume that POPSLOADER is defaulting to the CFW version of POPS.

I've gone through everything to try and get the POPSLOADER menu back so I can run FF7 at a stable POPS version, but to no avail. Here is my breakdown:

1. Happily playing FF7 on 3.90 m33-2 with POPSLOADER plugin.
2. Decided to upgrade to 3.90 m33-3. No problems, continued playing.
3. The other night, tried PSPLink. When enabling those plugins, POPSLOADER was disabled. Uninstalled PSPLink.
4. Tried FF7 - crashing, no POPSLOADER menu.
5. Enabled POPS plugin in Recovery.
6. FF7 still crashing, no POPSLOADER menu.

NB: I installed POPSLOADER with all the other versions of POPS under 3.90 m33-2 and never had any problems. Always got the POPSLOADER menu. Since 3.90 m33-3... no luck.

downunder.

Can anybody confirm that it works on 3.90m33 or 3.90m33-2, cause I'll downgrade to that if POPSLOADER works on the previous two.

I'm running 3.90m33-3 currently if anybody forgot. Thanx.

Also sorry if it was mentioned in any previous posts, I just want to 100% confirm it before I downgrade.

I just downgraded to 3.90m33-2 and still not getting anything, not squat! Every plugin works for me except the popsloader. I've tried it all. Does a 150addon effect this from working in anyway, cause I have that install?

(UPDATE) I found the source of the Problem! It works on 3.90m33-2, but you have to have a LOW AMOUNT of PLUGINS for it to work. Too many plugins will stop it from working!
