Hi:
by error i deleted the Windows XP Home Edition SP2 boot.ini file. When i started the laptop, the massage "NTLDR file is missing..." appeared. I have made some research and ask some people who know how to fix this. I got the Windows install CD, and when I go to the recovery console to repair I get stuck because I don't know what to do. Other thing is that my hard drive has a partition for Windows and another for Linux, and I don't want to erase anything (files, programs, OS, etc...) from neither one of those 2 OS. Any help will be extremely appreciated.
the command to use is bootcfg /rebuild. But this is one of those instances where you need to do more research. The reinstalling of the boot.ini file might repair your windows, but you might have problems booting linux.
