placed battery in DS backwards, now wont turn on

I accidentally placed my battery in backwards in my Nintendo DS for a split second, had not even turned the device on yet, and now when i try to turn it on it no longer powers on.

I tried replacing the battery, no luck... i tried a new AC adaptor, no luck. Whenever I plug it in to the wall the red light comes on for about a half a second and then goes out.

It is definitely not under warranty any more. Does anyone know of any guides in hope of fixing this?

I think you've burnt it out...

I don't think there are any fixes for this kinda thing but its probably better to wait and see
