Was it showing results in kilobits (kbs) or kilobytes (kBs)?
8kbs = 1kBs
uTorrent shows speeds in kilobytes, so the 80 kBs = 480kbs.
Have you capped your upload speed in uTorrent to, at the most, 80% of your overall upload ability?
Setting upload to unlimited, or higher than 80%, can slow your download speed as it interferes with communications to the tracker.
Yeah it's Kbs. But i download at no more than 80 kps... i seen them start they go to about 164 kps but then rapidly go down and are at 80 or lower... i set my upload limit to 25 kps... and while downloading i make sure i have no other internet windows or messengers that could be interfeering with the connection
208kbs = 26kBs, so your 25kBs setting in uTorrent is using almost all of your upload and will interfere with communication.
With that 208kbs upload, your uTorrent upload cap should be no higher than 20kBs.
If your uTorrent is showing 164kBs that would be 1312kbs, so you may want to re-try the speed test at different times.
Make sure all internet activity, including torrents, is stopped prior to taking the test.
Then I don't see how you are getting 164 download in uTorrent as uTorrent shows speeds in kilobytes (kBs) and that would be 1312kbs, close to twice as fast as your connection.
The 80kBs (480kbs) you get in uTorrent is not that far off from your down speed on the test.
If you adjust your upload to 80% (20kBs) you might get even better.
Sorry, I had a brain fart and was multiplying by 6 instead of 8.
The 80kBs is 640kbs which is what your speed test showed.
So uTorrent is getting max speed now.
