Perhaps I was way too enamored by this game and it's storyline, but I feel like it was far too short for a Final Fantasy game (missions excluded, of course).

Anyone else left wanting more?

this is short compared to the original ffvii or ffviii. i completed the game within 10 hours, just going straight through the game.

I played about 45% through the missions. I'm about to proceed with new game+ just for the hell of it.

Not sure, maybe it just didn't survive the transfer from psp to computer and back after the memstick format. I'm really just bummed because I was looking forward to ripping everyone a new hole in new game +, since I would start the game from scratch at level 52 and with all my tricked-out materia.

Hey Judgement 8, I couldn't help but notice that you have a 3.90m33 psp - and you're playing FFVII... I need to PM you or ask you about FFVII's functionality on 3.90m33. Does it work w/out glitches?

It works without glitches when i use Popsloader 3.80 v.2. First when i tried it without popsloader my psp crashed when the first battle started. Then i put popsloader in my psp and when i started FFVII it asked which pops i want to use i selected 3.71. Now the game is working really well i´m currently playing Disc 2. Here you can check how to get different PSX games work on PSP http://www.gamerspress.com/index.php?tit...patibility_List

so I ended up downgrading back to 3.71m33-3.
It's glorious - everything runs w/out a glitch to be had:
FFVII, FFVIII, Xenogears, all of it.

So in FFVIII does it work without gliches? I played it just about 10 minutes on my PSP and i didn´t have any gliches. But i´ve heard that it freezes when you sometimes Draw or Cast magic or in a Boss fight.

You know, I've gotta check that out. Honestly, I really only tested FFVIII and Xeno for about 5-10 minutes. I'm still dividing my time between Crisis Core, FFVII, MGSPortableOps+, and GOWChains 'o Olympus

On CC:FFVII:

I felt CC:FFVII was too short... the longevity of the game is really only bolstered by the missions which they themselves leave a fair bit to be desired (or at least the 100 or so I played). However, being able restart the game from the start with all your materia etc... that adds a new dimension. Not going to replay it for a little while though.

While we're on the subject, I liked the new battle system... however I miss the control of being able to summon whenever you want and to also choose your own limit break etc. I know there are ways to affect the DMW in terms of materia and items, but I still feel a little bummed about it.

Yeah... I'm left felt wanting. But all that said, I enjoyed it as a prequel and it has geared me up to take on FFVII once again... this time I'll protect my saved games more readily. I'm just personally happy to see the PSP get an exclusive Final Fantasy title.

On FFVIII on POPS:

Yes, there are some bugs in running it - primarily with draw cast Scan. Most of my problems with on the first SeeD mission with the big mechanical robot thingy around the Communications Tower. I don't know if this primarily affects PSPs running CFW or official, or both. I can usually get by without the bug affecting me, as I don't usually do a lot of draw casting and it seems to be a real problem with Scan. I played through for a number of hours, into Galbadia etc... I'm pretty sure it's playable.

I haven't, however, tried running it with my current 3.90 m33-3 /w the DA 3.80 popsloader. Either way, I remember reading a few ways around it or to at least live with it.

downunder.

You know the funny thing: if you're fairly quick on the draw and you've got a knack for dodging attacks, you can blow through 1/2 of the missions before you even hit chapter 6 - making the main story's gameplay laughably easy due to leveling-up and advanced accesories/materia. Hell, as soon as you add item-fusion you can fuse hell(insert element here)-aga materia with a mastered hp/mp up++, throw in a few fat choco-feathers or dark matter and you've got 9999 hp/mp.
It's an awesome game with a VERY compelling storyline that gels real well with FFVII, but far too short.
My only motivation for still playing is to get to the end of the missions so I can fight Minerva (the goddess). I understand she actually poses a challenge, unlike the so-called final showdown with Genesis' big sword.

O rly? Will the Magi UNDUB version work with the same saved games as the USA version?

Yeah, the storyline did seem kinda of... wack. Might have a look out for it.

I too felt it was a little short...although i only did about 50% of the side missions.

My next time through i'm going to do all missions and see if that extends my joy.

The story was good though. All in all...i enjoyed this one.

So I started over from scratch, and I'm only on Chapter 5 or 6 - but I'm already 43% through the missions.
But get this: Chapter 5 or 6, and I'm already level 49, 9999HP 999MP 999AP 115ATK 140VIT... It's ridiculous. The story-part of the game from this point out (if it were a "mission") should be labeled "very easy".

I love it, though.
