First off, I know I'm an idiot for installing 3.90m33 to begin with - so now that that's out of the way...

I was informed that I could use the 3.80m33 v2 poploader on 3.90m33 (to play ff7) if I used the psardumper first.
I put the dumper in the game folder and the 3.90 eboot.pbp in the root - but when I run the dumper, it says "psar too big, recompile w/a bigger buffer".

I could use some help with this. I'd really like to accomplish this w/out downgrading. Call me lazy.

Alright I just installed popsloader, I'm too lazy to see if it resolves the issue with FF7 (I didn't realize there was one) because I work nights and don't feel like ripping discs right now, I want to sleep soon. However I can tell you to skip the psardumping section.

Follow that guide, notice near the bottom where it offers links for all the fw pops? Just download that and save yourself the hassle, took me all of 3 minutes to get working. Hopefully it fixes any problems you have.

Thanks, that actually helps a lot. I'm going to give it a shot when I get home.

Just to be clear, we are talking about the original PSX final fantasy 7, right?
No problems in 3.90m33 that you're aware of?

Well I'm not an expert, and I've read of some issues but I would THINK that between popsloader and TimeMachine you should be able to get FF7 to play if it doesn't work normally. I've never had to use Popsloader on any games before, but I haven't played FF7 (yes the original) on my PSP yet (currently on Xenogears).

How did you get Xenogears to work, I have 3.90 33-3 and when I start the first fight my game crashes. Vagrant Story won't even load I just get a dead screen. Any tips?

I dunno, I don't even need to use Popsloader to get Xenogears running. Are you sure the Eboot is made correctly?

If you haven't already I'd try installing popsloader and see if that solves your problem. Though I kinda doubt it because I'm able to run it normally"?

My solution ended up being a 3.71m33 downgrade. Now everything works beautifully.
