Having completed a slide show using Photo story 3.1 i have saved it as PALDVD 768x576 i would now like to use Nero 6 to burn the show to a DVD, either +or- can anyone tell me which of the programes listed in Nero 6 i should use. and also which disc format i should use.

Hello Rotary,
Thank you for your reply, the resolution figure I stated was from Photo Story 3.1 and marked alongside the option for saving the file to a PalDVD. On opening Nero 6 there are seven seperate options, I chose the later " Make your own DVD video". this I have now done but find the picture quality to be quite poor, yet when played on the computer before burning it seems a lot better.
Is there a clue in the fact that the slide show took a very long time to burn, the file size was only 19 Mbs and it took over half an hour...! your help is much appreciated

PAL uses a 720 by 576 resolution and yours is different, this could be a factor, i have seen that res for crt pc monitors the 768 part...
so nero maybe converting again to dvd compliant pal, which is another loss in quailty, a long process can be seen as good as its giving maximum/best quailty, this can be checked in options/setting of nero.
by the sounds of it your not JUST burning to dvd, its encoding/burning and this is the time factor/loss of quailty. also mix into this equation that a pc monitor is usually smaller than a TV screen so on pc it will look better than being stretched across a 42 inch tv say.
Hello Rotary
Yes i can see what you are saying about the resolution, what puzzles me is why Microsoft should choose such an odd resolution for the "Photo Story" slide show conversion. I have Ulead version 9 on board and am trying the exact arrangement as before with that soft ware, the resolution with Ulead is 720x576 Hopefull I may see a difference.
Thank you for your reply
