I realize that this may be a redundant topic, but is the psar dumper needed to run poploader for 3.90m33? I've heard conflicting opinion on this.

PSAR dumpers have nothing to do with POPSloader.

PSAR dumpers are used to dump the PSAR of an EBOOT.PBP on the memory stick to another part of the memory stick, and is only used by devs. POPSloader is for playing PS1 games on the PSP.

Thanks. That's all I needed to know. There's some information floating around about needing to use the dumper before playing FFVII with poploader in FW 3.90m33. Apparently, it's not necessary, then.

I believe you would have to use PSARdumper if you were to extract the pop files yourself. But as someone has so generously posted them there's really no need, unless you like extra work. Of course I'm as lazy as they come and didn't rip the pops myself so I'm not 100% certain on the procedure.

Everyone replying to my obsessive threads has been enormously helpful. Thank you all.

To avoid any other glitches or problems from a rushed FW that was released for the sake of skype, I downgraded to 3.71m33-3.

Lest anyone think that I'm bashing Dark Alex for 3.90's flaws, I want to reiterate how keystone he is to the PSP modding scene.
