hey guys, when i boot my comp, it sits on the sony screen for about 5 min. after that, it finally boots up. so then after all is booted up, everything runs fine usually until i try to do something like burn a dvd. when i tried using decrypter to burn an iso, it took 30 min to get through selecting the directory.

then sometimes it just seems to freeze or run slowly while just trying to move files.

thanks guys,

Sounds like the hard disk could be going bad.

Hard disks get scanned even at that early stage, they just don't actually load any data until the windows logo appears. If there's a fault with the drive, it may take excessively long to be to detected.
