I have a HP Pavilion Media Center a1520n with vista installed on it and for some reason the integrated sound device is not being recognize. I have gathered some info and what i speak of is:

Integrated High Definition audio

* Realtek ALC 883 chipset
* Supports up to 8 audio channels
* Dolby Pro Logic II compatible

& the driver can be found @ HP.com

I have tried installing it and hoping that the device will work properly but instead it sees the Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit Audio Controller. I'm not very Hardware Tech but i would really like to put a fix to this issue! If anyone knows a solution to my problem PLEASE HELP!

Did you install a Sound Blaster sound card in your computer? Are you getting any sound from your computer? Is the onboard audio enabled in the BIOS?

Well i can get sound off the sound blaster audio card but its the Integrated one that i am truly trying to get the function of. It has a nice little Audio Out connection that i can plus my 5.1 SS System into, as well the fact that there is a few connections in the front of the PC i would like to have in use for earphones.

I have tried deleting the SB Live! drivers and searching for the Realtek instead but for some reason it just will not find it :S I have installed all the recommended drivers from HP.com non help my issue!

You didn't answer the third question that I asked, in my last post. It could be a key to your success, because the onboard audio is more than likely disabled.
