hi guys

my friend has a laptop packard bell easy note very similar to this one in the picture:

It was working fine untill a week ago the opertaing system wouldnt load it would just stick at loading not managing to get on the desktop. Last night she tried to turn it on and worst was to come as we get an entire black screen with nothing displaying.
The fans are rotating we have the green lights at the bottom of the laptop.
What should we do? I believe I can fix it in the right direction as im very good with computers but this one stumbles me and we dont want to go to the shops as they charge alot.
any ideas please?

does it come with data recovery disks or is the system recovery on another partition of the drive?
