Hi,
I hate it when i am gettin an axxo torrent of a FILM I OWN! ( to save me the hassel of ripping it), and the download speeds are sooo slow.
i have come up with the idea that aXXo should use KGB Archiver. The end result is that a 700MB film could be compressed to be around 5MB. If aXXo did this he could help people with limited download speeds, and people would have to spend forever uploading. the one downside is the time it takes to pack and unpack a KGB file.
If you agree please reply on this post, and tell all your feiends, make new posts in other forums.
so hopefully aXXo will hear us and respond.
THX
It doesn't work that easy. Maybe the above application is capable of high compression rates, but it depends on the data that you work with. Avi, mp3...are already compressed formats, so there is no way you will be able to get a 700MB AVI file to 5MB. Even if theoretically you would be able to do that, from what I was reading about the application, it would probably take a full day to pack/unpack the data, and would drain your PC.
That argument doesn't make sense. It would be better for a PC to spend days downloading things, then hardly any time to manually unzip files, that doesn't take very long, than for a PC to take hardly any time downloading, then to spend most of your time manually unzipping things. That's just daft.
