I've been using DVDFab for a long time and this is the first time I'm having problems trying to rip a dvd. It just came out last Tuesday 4/22/08. DVDFab analyzes the disc but that's as far as it goes, it keeps doing that and even if you try to cancel the process it wont let you do it because it's non responsive. You have to manually terminate the program. Any ideas? Any advise will be highly appreciated.

make sure the dvd is clean and scratch free, could be a bad pressing, could be your drive unable to encode the dvd,can you try another drive?
anydvd is another option

There are some bugs with the latest beta that are being worked on. Try using version 4.1.2.0.
99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

Thank you both for your replies. I did what iluvendo suggested and I was able to rip that dvd without any issues. Thanks again iluvendo.

I guess I need to do that too. when I couldn't use dvdfab platinum I just went ahead and used dvd decryptor and dvd shrink with no problem. I also noticed if click the "burn again" button on dvdfab platinum 5.0 it doesn't seem to work.

Oh gawd. I was hoping that this crap would be cured in 5.0. I've been complaining to Fengtao for months about this. About half the time Fab just keeps printing the status bar, scanning and scanning and scanning. You can take the damn dvd out of the reader and Fab will blithely just keep on scanming. They kept telling me "We no have problem. You get next version." Bulls**t. Fab apparently still HAS serious architectural problems.

I was able to rip The Orphanage using dvdfab platinum 5.0.0.0 once I disabled path player. Since then, the updates thru 5.0.2.0 fix the bug with the path player and the burn again feature.
